En un contexto global marcado por el repliegue identitario y la desconfianza hacia el otro, Mandry Ve? reivindica el poder de la música como lenguaje universal y espacio de encuentro entre culturas. El proyecto nació en el marco de la Semana Flamenca de Madagascar, organizada por el Consulado Honorario de España en Antananarivo, con la voluntad de construir un diálogo artístico auténtico entre el flamenco y la tradición musical malgache, alejándose de las colaboraciones superficiales y apostando por la escucha, el respeto y la creación compartida.

Los protagonistas son Rajery, maestro de la valiha y referente de la música de Madagascar, y Raúl Rodríguez, antropomúsico, investigador y creador del tres flamenco. Su primer encuentro en 2019 confirmó una conexión musical y humana excepcional, dando origen a una colaboración que, tras varios años de maduración, cristalizó en la grabación de este álbum.

Mandry Ve? reúne once composiciones que entrelazan canciones tradicionales y obras originales, uniendo con naturalidad los ritmos y sonoridades del flamenco y la música malgache. Más que un disco, es un puente entre dos mundos aparentemente lejanos que demuestra que la creatividad, el respeto mutuo y el arte pueden derribar fronteras y abrir nuevos horizontes de convivencia e imaginación. Un futuro por escribir de la mano de Rajery y Raúl Rodríguez, un futuro que construiremos entre todos.

In a global context marked by identity-driven retreat and growing distrust of the other, Mandry Ve? champions the power of music as a universal language and a space for cultural encounter. The project was born as part of the Madagascar Flamenco Week, organized by the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Antananarivo, with the aim of building an authentic artistic dialogue between flamenco and Malagasy musical tradition, moving away from superficial collaborations and embracing listening, respect, and shared creation.

The project brings together Rajery, master of the valiha and a leading figure in Malagasy music, and Raúl Rodríguez, anthropomusician, researcher, and creator of the flamenco tres. Their first meeting in 2019 confirmed an exceptional musical and human connection, giving rise to a collaboration that, after several years of development, came to fruition in the recording of this album.

Mandry Ve? brings together eleven compositions that weave traditional songs and original works together, naturally merging the rhythms and sounds of flamenco and Malagasy music. More than an album, it is a bridge between two seemingly distant worlds, demonstrating that creativity, mutual respect, and art can break down borders and open new horizons for coexistence and imagination. A future yet to be written, shaped by Rajery and Raúl Rodríguez — a future we will build together.
